What do we offer?

We offer classes for every level, and each class is capped at 12 people so everyone can get the individual attention they need. All classes are based on a reservation system, so please respect your fellow members and cancel well in advance if able. If a class gets full, you will be placed on a wait list and receive an email if space opens.

What does it mean to us?

A fitness program that is infinitely scalable and honest in its claims. What do we mean by this? Let's break it down.

Infinitely Scalable: If you're like most of us, you discovered CrossFit in one of three ways: You read an article about a new extreme workout system; you heard about it from a friend or co-worker who seemed infatuated; or, maybe you saw some of the elite athletes on TV. However you might have found it, my guess is that if you are reading this, you are interested in what it has to offer but maybe you’re a bit nervous about what you have heard or seen from those who participate. We hear this all the time: “It seems really hard!” Fear not. As we have said before, CrossFit and Town are for everyone, because every workout we do can and will be scaled to what will be most beneficial and safe to you, the athlete. Does this mean it will be easy? Sorry, but no! We will push you to your limits and take you out of your comfort zone, because that is how progress is made. However, we will do it in a means that is safe and productive for you, regardless of your skill or fitness level. Can’t do a pull up? No problem; we have ten other options for you to try. Can’t lift the weight we have programmed today? Easy; we will take some off. Try not to let intimidation of movement or weight keep you from experiencing what we believe is the most rewarding fitness program you can experience.

Honesty in its Claims:  CrossFit is one of the few things in our life that reciprocates the work and effort invested in such a direct and tangible way; that if we stay disciplined and follow through on staying committed to making it to the gym each week, we will improve - whether it’s tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year. 1+1= 2, which doesn’t always seem to be the case elsewhere in our lives.

What does this mean to you?

If you stay committed and engaged with us and our program, you will be more physically fit and move better than you ever have before.

Note the title of this paragraph, “Honesty in its Claims.” We didn’t guarantee that you would lose 10lbs in 10 days or look like Arnold Schwarzenegger after a year. We said you would be more physically fit and move better than you did before working with us. Could those other things happen? Sure, they may very well come true; but that is not what we claim CrossFit will do for you, because there is no such thing as a miracle program or pill. You will need to put in the effort, but you will be glad that you did because the fitness, skill, and confidence you gain from that hard work will make the challenges you face beyond the walls of Town just one more rep you need to complete.

How does CrossFit Inc. define it?

CrossFit is a lifestyle characterized by safe, effective exercise and sound nutrition. CrossFit can be used to accomplish any goal, from improved health to weight loss to better performance. The program works for everyone — people who are just starting out and people who have trained for years.”

What does it mean to us?

This one is going to be a lot more simple than our Crossfit explanation.

Weightlifting is specific to strength and movement, whereas CrossFit is a combination of multiple strength and conditioning disciplines. Weightlifting concentrates on three specific movements: The Snatch, the Clean, and the Jerk. These are the lifts you see performed at the Olympics, and you will also be introduced to them in CrossFit. However, if you find yourself longing for a deeper understanding of or a desire to perfect the lifts, then Weightlifting is the class for you. We also have a competition team open to all skill levels if you are interested in scratching your competitive bug. We believe this sport requires more power, grace, and skill than most any other sport contested, and we think you will, too.

How Does USA Weightlifting define it?

"‘Olympic-style’ weightlifting, or officially ‘Weightlifting’ is the style of weightlifting contested at the Olympic Games. The events of weightlifting, or ‘lifts,’ test virtually all of the muscles in an athlete’s body (including but not limited to the legs, the back, the shoulders, the arms, the grip and the core) - more muscles than any other single sport. And because the lifts are performed more widely than any other strength and power testing events in the world with standardized rules, with no assistive equipment, the World and Olympic Champions in the sport of Weightlifting have earned the right to the title of the strongest men and women in the world."

Assess, don’t guess. Town Athletics Nourishment starts now.

Why Nourishment and not nutrition? Because this is healthy lifestyle coaching—not just a diet.

Just as there are various skill levels of CrossFit, there are also levels to healthy living; and, like...
CrossFit, these levels are infinitely scalable. What this means for you is simple: If we don’t think you’re ready to weigh, measure, and calculate your calories/macros, then you won’t. Sometimes health improvements can be as simple as drinking more water, or chewing (read: enjoying) your food, or maybe even just re-organizing the priorities in your life to help lower your stress. Whatever the case, we will help you build healthy habits like we build your squats.

You all know that we believe in education and the right tool for the job, and this is no exception. We’ve invested in our Precision Nutrition and Opex Nourishment certifications, along with the most accurate body composition analysis unit on the market, the InBody 570. This allows us to truly assess, not guess, your nourishment needs. And, like our strength and conditioning cycles, this is long-game programming. That is why you won’t find anything less than a 6 month plan. Like anything that leads to fulfillment and a sense of accomplishment in life, these changes take time and dedication.

If you are interested in taking the next step in your fitness and health, let us know.
