COVID 19-2

Town Community,

It feels Iike just yesterday we were having this conversation...oh wait, we were!

As I mentioned in our last address, we had contingency plans in place if the worst-case scenario were to unfold. Well, here we are. If you haven’t heard, we are being mandated by the State to cease all operations. This mandate goes into effect this evening and lasts through the end of the month. This means no classes or open gym.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; your best defense (immune system) is a good offense (healthy lifestyle). We intend to continue offering you that opportunity in the best way that we can.

Remember, you are member of our community; not just for use of our equipment, but for the coaching, community, programming, and accountability that it affords in your pursuit of health and wellness. That last part, accountability, is what we plan to double-down on during this hiatus from the physical space. We know how easy it can be during a break like this to let your self-care slide, and we want to do everything we can to help you avoid that.

How are we responding?

Contingency Plan A:

  1. Daily workouts will continue to be posted via Zenplanner. They can also be found on our website here

    1. Daily video demonstrations with explanations of the workouts uploaded to our Facebook Community Page and links to the same videos via YouTube emailed for those who do not have FB.

          1. PS if you have access to a Pull Up bar or rings or are looking for extra midline work don’t forget about the Pull Up program here. A lot of it can be done without equipment.

  2. Daily check-ins with a coach. Remember when I mentioned “accountability”?

    1. Within the first couple of days, you should hear from a coach from the gym.

      1. This will continue throughout the remainder of the shutdown, during the days we would normally hold class.

      2. Your coach will be there to answer any questions you have about the workout, as well as offer guidance on best lifestyle practices.

      3. In addition, the first couple of calls will serve as an excellent opportunity to complete a Goal Setting session.

  3. Weekly Zoom webinars.

    1. We will pick a topic and field questions from attendees via a live video conferencing meeting.

*This is the plan for the remainder of the month.*

If the mandatory shutdown continues past the end of the month, then we will be implementing the following:

Contingency Plan B:

  1. Checking out DBs and KBs (with a deposit) to those interested in adding some more structured, weighted movements to their programming.

    1. A second programming track that includes these implements, in addition to the already- planned Body Weight WODs.

  2. All of the items discussed in Plan A.

The best part of the above is that it is all included in your current membership! If at any point during this time you would like a more personalized approach to your training, Individual Design is always an option. Just speak with your coach when they call to check in and they can go over the options with you.

Thank you in advance for your understanding during this extraordinary time in our lives. Both as a small business and individuals. I can honestly say this is not something that ever crossed our minds when we discussed our yearly plan. We our doing our best to continue offering you top-notch service you’ve come to expect from our gym.

If you don’t already have access to our private Facebook Community page, we highly recommend you request access. If that means creating a FB account, we think it’s worth it. This is the easiest place for us to disseminate information and will likely include some more interaction with the coaches, and maybe more importantly each other! We encourage you to use it as a space to interact with one another; your social health is equally as important as your physical.

Bonus!

If you post a video of yourself on Instagram completing the at-home workouts or lifestyle homework as issued by your coach, and use the hashtags #townathome and #town_athletics, you will be entered into a drawing each week for a $50 gift card to a local restaurant that has ties to the gym. Week 1 will be The Table, owned and operated by our very own Derek Bray. Week 2 will be Tatanka Takeout, which is owned and operated by Amanda Fotiou’s family. This is an awesome opportunity to support local business and help spread the word that healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to stop because you are at home!

Stay Rooted, and Stay Safe!
